Creating A Retail Business Online

Home Business

By Jim Sperlich

Online auctions have allowed people with little business
experience to become successful retailers in a mail-order
business of their own. It has also sparked the growth of many
sideline businesses that may or may not be of service to an
auction seller. Many successful sellers started out cleaning out
their attic or garage and eventually made selling on auctions a
full-time business and career.

There are numerous success stories about people who were able
to make the move from rags to riches by selling a variety of
merchandise through online auction sites. There are tricks to
making money through online auctions and a few people are making
money selling what they claim are the secrets to selling on an
auction. Essentially, there is no real secret or trick to making
money by selling merchandise through an online auction.

It’s really a simple concept, in finding a line of in-demand
merchandise that you can buy at rock bottom process and sell at
a higher price. No secret, just common sense. However, if it
really is that simple, there would be lot more auction
millionaires than you read about in the newspaper. Finding the
next hot item can take a certain gift in being able to track the
trends in everything from clothing to home appliances. Chances
are, by the time the average auction seller comes across a
really hot seller, it’s too late.

They may buy a large inventory at a reduced price hoping to
cash in on the item’s demand, and wind up with no bidders and a
lot of stuff in their basement. If you think you have the best
thing since pockets on a shirt, only buy a couple of them for
your inventory. Use a good quality picture and spell-check your
write up and start the bidding at a reasonable price. If the
items sell quickly, it may pay to pick up a few more of them and
continue selling them.

Once you find a line of merchandise that sells extremely well,
stay with it. For example, if you can get your hands on sports
memorabilia at a really reasonable price, regardless of where
the team is located, it can prove valuable on an online auction.
Your buyers are coming from around the world and there is a fan
for every team in every state and in most countries. Do not
limit the team merchandise you sell based on your geographic
location. If people in the team’s area want the merchandise, it
can probably be found in the team’s sport shop.

Whatever you do when selling at an online auction, do not make
the buyer wait for weeks to receive their merchandise. If you
promise the merchandise will be shipped within so many hours
after receipt of the payment, ship it faster. Insure the
expensive items at your cost if the buyer chooses not to pay for
the option. A couple of bucks for insurance can save a lot of
aggravation later.

10 Reasons Why I Choose Internet Business

Home Business

 By Danial Syaufiq

From an age-old concept when internet business was looked as a
‘cool’ and ‘forward-thinking’ idea, it has now become an
essential part of most businesses. It has changed the way we
communicate and how we do business. Where earlier it would take
lots of planning and investment to start a shop, nowadays it
hardly takes much time or investment to start a business online.
There are many advantages that an internet based business offers
which is why more and more people seem to be joining in the mad
rush to have their own internet business. The top ten reasons
for opting for an internet business are:

1) The internet has become the most important place for selling
and marketing your products and services. Its importance can be
understood from the fact that it is becoming popular day by day.

2) One of the major advantages is its global reach. The
internet is available all over the world. If you have a small
business, it is quite simple to expand the market reach beyond
your geographical location and your current customer segments.

3) On internet, you can compete with your betters more easily,
since it cannot easily disclose the size of ones business. On
the internet, all companies are reduced to the same size of the
customer’s browser window.

4) You can start a business on the net with very little
investment. If you compare the costs involved with that of
setting up a shop or office you will be surprised. The running
costs of online businesses also very low.

5) This, when compared to the high returns, makes it all the
more awesome. Imagine starting a valid, legal business with only
$500 and earning in six figures! It is more than 100% returns!

6) The buyer and the seller are in close contact with each
other. You and your customer can interact very conveniently,
with minimum costs involved. You can sell and advertise your
stuff, and get immediate feedback too. This is even better, when
you communicate with your customers on video mails, etc. This
increases your goodwill.

7) Internet business is also very fast and easy. With a few
clicks, you can sell your products and receive your money. What
can be a more comfortable way to mint money?

8) It makes your business more visible. You reach out to a wide
customer base. There are many tools available for doing the
business online and you can take advantage of them. Your
products and services are noticed by the whole world.

9) Your absence does not halt your business. You web site is
online and available 24 hours a day. Your customers can always
visit your “shop”, that is, your website, and your business goes
on, without being affected.

10) Internet business, these days, has become quite reliable
too. As long as you are careful and are vigilant enough, there
is no way one can swindle you.

It is obvious that internet business is the best way to earn
money. Not only is it easy and reliable, it also has a great
advantage over ‘non- internet’ business It has almost become a
necessity in today’s marketplace. Therefore, you too must
consider having your own internet business, if you do not wish
to lag behind the times!

Making Money Online - Setting Up A Basic Affiliate Marketing Business Plan

Affiliate marketing

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Francois_Du_Toit]Francois Du Toit

Many companies spend thousands of dollars on business plans. They employ consultants, do extensive market research, etc. There is no need for you to go to these extremes. Chances are you are the only one that will ever see your business plan and you remain the best person to prepare your own business plan.

Having a business plan will remove many of the reasons people fail to make money online and limit comments such as “Oops, didn’t think about that…” or “Wish I new this beforehand…”

You want to make money with affiliate marketing. Where do you start?

I always recommend that new marketers start promoting a product they know or are passionate about. It simply makes it so much easier when you are doing something you enjoy! Assume you love animals and would like to promote a product that can benefit dog owners. This is a very wide field and your first step is to narrow down your niche as far as possible while checking that there is indeed a demand for this type of information.

Although you can promote both physical as well as information products I suggest you start with information products. Most information products are available via instant download (instant gratification!) and you can generally earn very high affiliate commissions on information products as they do not actually cost the seller any money once they have been produced.

What are people searching for? Establishing Demand

Having the best product in the world will not feed your family if there is no demand for it. Secondly, search engines rank websites based on RELEVANCY and choosing the right keyword(s) plays a very important role.

For example, when you search for “solutions for dog fleas” you don’t want to see websites that cover dog food, dog training or dog breeds. No. Your dog has fleas and you are looking for information on solving this problem.

You need RELEVANT sites that will give you specific information and advice.

It is crucial to know what keywords or key phrases people use when searching for information as well as the average number of searches per keyword.

The latter is obviously required to establish demand. Do people search for “dog fleas”, “dogs with fleas” or “getting rid of fleas”? There are many keyword research tools available on the internet, some free and some paid. I consider keyword research a vital part of internet marketing. Not a “nice to have” but a “must have” and suggest you get the best keyword research tool you can afford.

I recommend Wordtracker. It is, in my opinion, the best keyword research tool available on the market. Wordtracker offers a free trial option and also has a free keyword suggestion tool.

Typing in DOG FLEAS into Wordtracker’s keyword research tool I notice that the top keyword DOG FLEAS get an estimated 250 searches per day while a phrase such as FLEAS ON A DOG only get an estimated 7 searches a day. That is a huge difference!

But hey, don’t ignore “unpopular” keywords! Low volume keywords often mean fewer competitors! I would rather be on the 1st page of Google for a keyword that only get 10 searches a day than on the 100th page of Google for keyword that gets 300 searches a day…

Tip: Do not make any assumptions. A low volume keyword does not necessarily have fewer competitors than a high volume keyword! Even if it has fewer competitors this does not mean it is a “better” keyword. You need to take both the daily search volume AND the number of competing sites into consideration.

Once you have established demand it is time to have a look at how many sites are competing for the same keyword(s). Once again, Wordtracker offers a tool that is quick and easy to use.  Wordtracker has a very useful measurement tool called “KEI” that rates keywords based on search volume and the number of competing sites. You can also do a manual search on Google by typing in your keyword or key phrase between quotation marks (”keyword”) and note the number of competing sites.

Tip: Do not be dismayed at a large number of competitors. Even if you have 25,000 competing sites you should still be able to rank very well in Google for your keyword(s). However, if you have 100 million web pages competing for the same keyword you should rather focus on using another keyword!

By the way, by referring to websites and search engines such as Google I am not saying you have to build a website or blog that has to rank well in the search engines for your keyword(s) if you want to succeed with affiliate marketing. No. In fact, you don’t even need to have a website or blog for affiliate marketing!

However, having a website that ranks well in the search engines can bring you a lot of free organic traffic. Traffic that is normally very targeted to your niche. Even if you have no interest in ranking well in the search engines it is still very advisable to have a blog or website where you can send people to for more information, collect their details, etc.

The point is that you have to establish that there is a demand for your niche and, depending on the number of competitors you have, consider narrowing your niche as far as possible while making sure that demand remains reasonable.

Solving problems

It really helps to offer people solutions to problems. People that are searching for solutions to specific problems make better potential customers than people simply browsing the internet because they are bored.

Do some research into your niche to find out exactly what questions and problems people have that they need solutions for. There are many ways to do this type of research. I recommend you visit blogs and forums where you can find your target market.

Make a note of some typical questions, the number of views a question gets as well as the number of replies and what replies are given. It can be worthwhile to do some research into a topic that many people are enquiring about and build up some content of your own.

The better you understand a problem the better the solution you can offer!

Finding affiliate programs to promote

You have found a niche, established that there is a demand for it (people looking to find solutions to a specific problem) and have determined that the niche is not flooded with competitors. In order words, you know that you can reasonably expect to get your share of the pie. The next step in your business plan is to find a suitable affiliate program to promote that you can present to your niche as the solution to a problem.

I highly recommend searching Clickbank’s database for suitable affiliate products. It is probably the easiest way for a new marketer to find and promote an affiliate product.

Can You Become A Super Affiliate? Five Steps To Success

Affiliate marketing

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Vanessa_A._Doctor]Vanessa A. Doctor

Affiliate marketing is a novel method of promoting web businesses (merchants and advertisers), wherein an affiliate (or a publisher) is rewarded for every visitor, subscriber, customer, and/or sale provided through their efforts. This type of marketing is done thru using one site to drive traffic to another, and is the stepchild of online marketing.

While search engines, e-mail and RSS seizes much of the attention of online retailers, affiliate marketing, despite its relation to the early beginnings of online retailing, carries a relatively lower profile. However, affiliates continue to play a fundamental role in e-retailers’ marketing strategies

Affiliate Marketing Has Evolved From Its Early Beginnings

Affiliate marketing has grown quickly since its inception. The e-commerce website, viewed as a marketing tool in the early days of the Internet became an integrated part of the overall business plan, and in some aspect grew to a larger business than the existing offline business. According to one report, total sales generated through affiliate networks in 2006 was £2.16 billion for the United Kingdom alone.

At present, the most active sectors for affiliate marketing are the adult, gambling and retail sectors. The three sectors expected to experience the greatest growth are the mobile phone, finance and travel sectors. Closely following those three sectors are the entertainment, particularly gaming and internet-related services (i.e.,broadband) sectors.

How To Be A Super Affiliate

To effectively become a super affiliate, here are a few tips to help aspiring super affiliates make it to the top of the marketing ladder.

- If you wish to be a super affiliate in a short span of time, and you want to recruit some affiliates for one product that you just recently launched, you need to motivate your team properly. A good way would be to create some samples for your affiliates, in order for them to have something to show and offer to prospective customers.

For example, with a video product, get clips from the video, and for audio, do the same thing. For software copies, you may want to create a demo version. By enabling your affiliates to distribute this demo and sample products, this will increase their conversion rates.

- If you contact an individual and ask them to become an affiliate for you, always remember to give them a copy of your product or service. This will not only increase their likelihood of actually becoming your affiliate, it will also make them significantly more efficient as an affiliate, since they will fully understand what the product provides.

- Try to consider setting up a multi-level commission or rewards system as a method of recruiting affiliates. Through this method, you could be making more money online. For example, if an affiliate recruits another one who makes 10 sales, that first affiliate earns a percentage on all of those 10 sales. This would give other business and list owners with a following an incentive to participate, even if they can’t directly sell your product.

- Whenever you’re planning to coordinate a massive launch with affiliates, always plan to buy professional-looking graphic headers and e-covers too, because if your sales page does not look credible, you will immediately lose a lot of potential affiliates. Like you, they would also want to earn a decent return from their efforts; and they also want to associate with good products, not mediocre ones. Affiliates want to make money online with someone who they can trust without tricking them. [http://affiliatenetwork.ws ]Affiliate Marketing - http://affiliatenetwork.ws
