5 Steps to Explode Your Business

Uncategorized

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Patrick_Schwerdtfeger]Patrick Schwerdtfeger

Here’s a great strategy that can dramatically change your business.  It works best for professional service providers but it can work well for others as well.  If you haven’t started down this road before, it can involve a lot of work but you only have to do it once.  As soon as you’ve gone through the process once, you can use the same strategy over and over again.  And you’ll be positioning yourself as an expert along the way.

First things first.  You have to ensure you’re an expert in the field.  Does that mean you have to be a PhD in the topic?  No, it doesn’t.  It just means you have to know enough about the topic to be authoritative.  Keep in mind that most people know very little about any one fields and a recent study found that if you read just three books on a particular subject, you’ll effectively become an expert on that topic relative to everyone else.

The next thing you have to do is write a short handbook on the topic.  This can be as easy as summarizing the content in the three books you read and putting the same content in your own words and in a condenses document.  By doing this, you can forever more refer to yourself as an author and other people will treat you with more respect as a result.  I have written two handbooks in the past.  One was 28 pages and the other was 34.  So these don’t need to be long novels.  They just need to demonstrate your expertise.

The process of writing a short handbook does something else too.  It structures your thoughts and your understanding of the topic.  By being forced to explain the topic to an uneducated reader, you will end up knowing the subject better yourself.  And with that understanding in place, you need to massage that content into a 2-hour workshop.  Think about the most important points and organize them into a logical order for an audience to hear.

Next up, schedule the event and market it to get a few people in attendance.  There are a lot of different ways to market an event like this and it doesn’t need to cost you a lot of money.  The important thing is to get 10 or 15 people in attendance.  That will give you a sufficient audience to practice delivering the information and getting the questions that naturally come up.

When you’re comfortable with the process, bring a microphone and record an event live.  You can download Audacity for free and the microphone will cost $50 or less.  Then, you’ll get the exposure from the workshop as usual but you’ll get an information product to boot.  The importance of this is significant.  A lot of speaking engagements require the speaker to have an information product to sell.  It also builds more credibility.  And it allows you to make some money even though you’re providing the workshops for free.

This 5-step strategy is a great way to position yourself as an expert within your field and leverage that position to gain new clients or partners.  And once you’ve gone through the process once, you’ll have the tools forever more and can use them as often as possible without further efforts.

Top Ten Tools for Business Owners

Entrepreunership

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Yenna_Tyan]Yenna Tyan

Work on you, then work on your business.

For a business owner on the net, it’s tough to figure out how to get from nowhere to somewhere in the virtual land of everywhere. The best way to do this is mapped out below for your easy following and use.

Included is mind work, ways to capture your thoughts and share them with others, the best tool around for learning the languages of the internet, brilliant marketing resources, and ways to off-load the stuff you don’t know how to do or don’t have time to do.   In short, this list makes you smarter, faster, and more clear so you can grow your business.

1.Mind42

This is still in beta, but for mapping out your thoughts and allowing those thoughts to “spin off” and go down tangents, it’s terrific. Mostly because, after you’ve gone down the tangent, you are able to recall what you were originally working on! For a business owner, this is a priceless commodity.

2.Jott

This one is also in beta (public beta). Take a moment and recall this morning when you were driving in to work and you had a GREAT idea, so you either tried to text it to yourself as you were going down the road (dangerous!!) or just told yourself you’d just remember it? Then, when you got to your destination, you discover - *drat!* - that you either hit all the wrong buttons to text the message or you’d completely forgotten the great part of the thought? Enter Jott.com.
How’s it work? Sign up, they give you an 800 number to call. You call the number, they ask, “Who do you want to jott?” You say, “Myself.” Then you hear a beep. You say your message and hang up. When you get to your destination and check your email - it’s there, waiting for you in your inbox, already transcribed and ready to go! Brilliant!

3.ITeamWork

ITeamWork is wonderful for collaborating on a project with others, but it’s also terrific for keeping yourself on a schedule. It does take a little bit of time to set up, but the rewards (the emails you get reminding you of what you promised to do today) are tremendous! Rather than dropping the ball on your own projects, you keep working at them, a baby step at a time, until the whole project is complete. This also works nicely with those honey-do lists!

4.Didyousmellthat/Intern

Dave Ledoux is an internet marketer extraordinaire. For the business minded, he’s a gem because he’s willing to train you to do internet marketing with his intern program. It helps him - interns do the work, after all, but you gain priceless knowledge to apply to your own website. You can go through his 90 day internship and do only the things he asks you to do, or you can do the stuff he wants you to do and mimic it parallel for your own websites and blogs. This is a remarkable experience and the information sharing he’s willing to do is a breath of fresh air.

5.DoMyStuff

With owning a business and trying to work, comes a time squeeze and YOU are the one squeezed! Domystuff.com lets you find a personal assistant for the things you’re willing to release for someone else to do, at a price you both agree on. It’s like eBay for your time instead of for your stuff.

6.W3schools

You can certainly hire someone to do all your websites and make them function, pretty, and all that, but when it’s complete, you’re still at the mercy of the Techie who put it together in the first place. It’s time to learn some of the basics so you’re not so lost - to protect your, your business, your customers, and your future. Take the basic HTML course and learn what’s going on behind the scenes.

7.TheInternetWizards

This is more marketing stuff. Bonnie Boots puts out a gift every month: an internet magazine that’s just chock full of insights and leading edge marketing viewpoints.

8.Guru

This site is an enormous collection of geniuses. Where that’s not quite accurate, it does make it easy to find the genius in the crowd. If you need techie stuff, artsy stuff, copy writers stuff, just other people doing your stuff - try this spot. It’s the first place I go when I need an artist for my business!

9.GoogleDocs

Most people know about some Google offerings. One of the most useful sites Google has in it’s public offerings is Google Docs (beta). With GoogleDocs, you can create an document or spreadsheet, then you’ve got three choices. 1) Keep it to yourself. 2) Collaborate with other(s) by sharing it. 3) Publish the document and make it public, then share the direct link to it with the world.

10.Silva UltraMind System

Silva UltraMind System is perhaps the most valuable of all this list. We began the list with the mind and capturing thoughts, now let’s generate some individual genius thought from YOU! It can be done, you just need the will to do it. If you have the will, follow their simple email course and get going. You’ll be amazed at the things you were thinking and never noticed you were even thinking them!

Together, these sites create a truly brilliant business owner. With these tools in your arsenal, you can think new thoughts, capture them for later, share the creativity with others, keep yourself on target, delegate the little stuff, keep the wool from falling over your eyes and create the kind of businesses that people want to share.

Three Tips to Write an Effective Internet Advertisement

Ecommerce

Author: Michael C. Podlesny

I am sure you have seen thousands upon thousands of Internet ads for anything and everything. Of course you have more than likely seen your share of terrible Internet ads and the really good ones.

In this article I am going to give three points on what makes up a good Internet ad so you can use it in your marketing strategies.

Start with a hook. A hook, (just like in fishing) is the piece of the Internet ad that catches the readers attention. In the case of your Internet advertisement, it is the headline. A bad headline would be, “Look inside to learn how to make a million dollars in ten minutes”. This headline suggests something so unrealistic, no one, and I mean not even the most desperate of people would investigate further. However, “Educational program teaches you how to increase your income”, is a much better way of writing the hook. Everyone is looking to increase their income, everyone knows education is a good way of doing that, and it also suggests that it is teaching you how to do it.

Now that the person is “hooked”, you need to keep their interest. If you are doing an Internet ad with mostly text, you can use a technique called “salting”. Salting is a way to keep the readers interest by telling them of some information and then letting them know you will give the rest to them later. For example, “Our cleaning process uses three steps to ensure the job is done right. In a moment, we will describe what they are, but right now we want to…”, you get the point. Now the reader of the Internet ad is curious as to what those three steps are and will continue to read the Internet ad until they read that information. Continually “salting” in your Internet ad, will keep the reader interested to the end.

If you are using pictures, keep in mind a picture is worth a thousand words, but a bad picture will ruin your Internet advertisement and possibly your business. If you are a hair stylist and you are promoting your business and you use a picture of someone for their hair style, yet the picture shows something you would see on a monster in horror flick, chances are, you won`t get too many responses. Choose your photo wisely.

Now that you have the reader`s interest until the very end, you have to close the deal. Closing the deal is the hardest of the three steps, in my opinion, to effective Internet advertising. Without a good close, all of the previous work mentioned is for naught. To “close” the deal, you need to give the reader something to do. For example, “Contact us today and receive 10% towards your next cleaning”. This would obviously be followed with a phone number, email, web page, or whatever it is you are trying to get them to respond to. Your reader must be given a way to reach out and obtain the product or service you just advertised about.

If you want to increase your response rate of your Internet advertisement or promotion these 3 steps alone should do it.

Creating A Retail Business Online

Home Business

By Jim Sperlich

Online auctions have allowed people with little business
experience to become successful retailers in a mail-order
business of their own. It has also sparked the growth of many
sideline businesses that may or may not be of service to an
auction seller. Many successful sellers started out cleaning out
their attic or garage and eventually made selling on auctions a
full-time business and career.

There are numerous success stories about people who were able
to make the move from rags to riches by selling a variety of
merchandise through online auction sites. There are tricks to
making money through online auctions and a few people are making
money selling what they claim are the secrets to selling on an
auction. Essentially, there is no real secret or trick to making
money by selling merchandise through an online auction.

It’s really a simple concept, in finding a line of in-demand
merchandise that you can buy at rock bottom process and sell at
a higher price. No secret, just common sense. However, if it
really is that simple, there would be lot more auction
millionaires than you read about in the newspaper. Finding the
next hot item can take a certain gift in being able to track the
trends in everything from clothing to home appliances. Chances
are, by the time the average auction seller comes across a
really hot seller, it’s too late.

They may buy a large inventory at a reduced price hoping to
cash in on the item’s demand, and wind up with no bidders and a
lot of stuff in their basement. If you think you have the best
thing since pockets on a shirt, only buy a couple of them for
your inventory. Use a good quality picture and spell-check your
write up and start the bidding at a reasonable price. If the
items sell quickly, it may pay to pick up a few more of them and
continue selling them.

Once you find a line of merchandise that sells extremely well,
stay with it. For example, if you can get your hands on sports
memorabilia at a really reasonable price, regardless of where
the team is located, it can prove valuable on an online auction.
Your buyers are coming from around the world and there is a fan
for every team in every state and in most countries. Do not
limit the team merchandise you sell based on your geographic
location. If people in the team’s area want the merchandise, it
can probably be found in the team’s sport shop.

Whatever you do when selling at an online auction, do not make
the buyer wait for weeks to receive their merchandise. If you
promise the merchandise will be shipped within so many hours
after receipt of the payment, ship it faster. Insure the
expensive items at your cost if the buyer chooses not to pay for
the option. A couple of bucks for insurance can save a lot of
aggravation later.

10 Reasons Why I Choose Internet Business

Home Business

 By Danial Syaufiq

From an age-old concept when internet business was looked as a
‘cool’ and ‘forward-thinking’ idea, it has now become an
essential part of most businesses. It has changed the way we
communicate and how we do business. Where earlier it would take
lots of planning and investment to start a shop, nowadays it
hardly takes much time or investment to start a business online.
There are many advantages that an internet based business offers
which is why more and more people seem to be joining in the mad
rush to have their own internet business. The top ten reasons
for opting for an internet business are:

1) The internet has become the most important place for selling
and marketing your products and services. Its importance can be
understood from the fact that it is becoming popular day by day.

2) One of the major advantages is its global reach. The
internet is available all over the world. If you have a small
business, it is quite simple to expand the market reach beyond
your geographical location and your current customer segments.

3) On internet, you can compete with your betters more easily,
since it cannot easily disclose the size of ones business. On
the internet, all companies are reduced to the same size of the
customer’s browser window.

4) You can start a business on the net with very little
investment. If you compare the costs involved with that of
setting up a shop or office you will be surprised. The running
costs of online businesses also very low.

5) This, when compared to the high returns, makes it all the
more awesome. Imagine starting a valid, legal business with only
$500 and earning in six figures! It is more than 100% returns!

6) The buyer and the seller are in close contact with each
other. You and your customer can interact very conveniently,
with minimum costs involved. You can sell and advertise your
stuff, and get immediate feedback too. This is even better, when
you communicate with your customers on video mails, etc. This
increases your goodwill.

7) Internet business is also very fast and easy. With a few
clicks, you can sell your products and receive your money. What
can be a more comfortable way to mint money?

8) It makes your business more visible. You reach out to a wide
customer base. There are many tools available for doing the
business online and you can take advantage of them. Your
products and services are noticed by the whole world.

9) Your absence does not halt your business. You web site is
online and available 24 hours a day. Your customers can always
visit your “shop”, that is, your website, and your business goes
on, without being affected.

10) Internet business, these days, has become quite reliable
too. As long as you are careful and are vigilant enough, there
is no way one can swindle you.

It is obvious that internet business is the best way to earn
money. Not only is it easy and reliable, it also has a great
advantage over ‘non- internet’ business It has almost become a
necessity in today’s marketplace. Therefore, you too must
consider having your own internet business, if you do not wish
to lag behind the times!
